I am a teacher by trade and now a home schooling momma of 3. I believe that God has imparted to us an incredible, overwhelming job in teaching our children his truths and giving them a Biblical world view. For our family that plays out in our daily lives through each subject we teach, pointing to the ONE who made it all and knows it all. This task is so HUGE and so overwhelming. With more kids leaving Christ as they leave their homes and enter college than ever before, I believe we MUST equip them. God has ordered us to train our children in the way they should go. He goes on in Deuteronomy 6:5-7 and says "These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home, when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." Basically all the time, in all you do. What an enormous task that is. I don't even pretend to measure up to this command, but I pray that God would help me everyday. That he would equip me every day. I hope that as I do this blog it would challenge me and other moms like me to truly teach their children in the ways of God.
I know that not every mother is equipped or able to home school. I do not wish to make anyone feel like there choice in schooling isn't as good or as "biblical" as mine. I hope instead this section will encourage you and give you ideas and tools to use with your kids to help them grow in both their academic knowledge and their love and knowledge of Christ. I hope that I can give you ideas so that you can impress on your children the truths of God in many practical fun ways. May it bless you and fit in your life whether you're home schooling or not.
